Gigantic developer Motiga announced “significant, temporary studio layoffs” today, just months after another spate late last year.
The MOBA developer did not reveal the number of employees affected. However, in his announcement company CEO Chris Chung was frank about the impact that this will have on the development of their upcoming Xbox One and PC game.
Chung stated “that a decision of this magnitude will impact all departments across the studio,” as well as those beta testers who will be left without support staff to address their concerns.
There does seem to be a ray of hope in the news, however. The CEO added that Motiga is “in active and promising discussions with a number of potential investors,” though said negotiations would last “beyond the resources we have to maintain the staffing required to continue development on Gigantic.”
