Street Fighter V didn’t enjoy a totally smooth rollout this week, as it faced some online and connectivity issues, for which Capcom and producer Yoshinori Ono quickly apologized. Now, Capcom has issued a new statement on the matter, saying that these problems have been addressed and you should now have a smoother experience across PlayStation 4 and PC.
Posting on Street Fighter V’s Steam page, Capcom said login and intermittent connectivity issues should now be less frequent, while problems with matchmaking have been fixed. Capcom said it was able to successfully identify the problem, and pointed fans to the Street Fighter Server Twitter account to stay up to date on how servers are performing on a moment-to-moment basis.
Capcom also said it’s aware that a “small number” of PC players have reported that their Fighter ID became corrupted after registration. A fix is in the works and should be deployed “shortly.”
Additionally, Capcom explained that other boot-up and crashing issues might be the result of anti-virus software you may have installed. The developer said you should try adding StreetFighterV.exe and/or the game install directory to your anti-virus software’s listed of excluded files to get around the problem.
Further still, Capcom said it has been made aware of some “non-reproducible crashes [and] stability issues” that it plans to investigate. No further details were shared.
Finally, the developer listed off a number PC-only features that the community has requested for Street Fighter V. Below is the list of items, but note that Capcom made no promises about delivering them.
- Native DirectInput support – this was one of the more consistent requests we’ve received from the PC community. We realize many fans prefer to use their existing PS3/PS4 compatible Arcade Sticks on PC which are DirectInput-based, so we are actively looking into adding this feature in an upcoming patch. In the meantime, players can use popular XInput remapping tools such as the X360CE [www.x360ce.com].
- Expanded key re-binding functionality – we are also looking into expanding key binding option to allow customers to freely map keys beyond the default B/N/M/,/H/J/K/L keys.
- In-game language options – the currently set language is based on the Operating System’s UI language. We are looking into adding language options via the Steam client launcher in an upcoming patch.
- Resolution Switching – current design requires users to cycle through each in-between resolution setting in order to arrive at a resolution of their choice. We’ll look into making this process much simpler and less time consuming in the future.
