The Division had the biggest first week ever for a new game franchise, Ubisoft announced today.
The online shooter generated $330 million globally in its first five days from both physical and digital game sales. The figure is just $5 million more than Activision’s Destiny, which generated $325 million worldwide in its first five days.
What’s more, Ubisoft also revealed that 1.2 million peak concurrent users played The Division over the weekend, and over 100 million hours have been played in the first week. These engagement numbers translate to “the highest ever for any Ubisoft title,” according to Stephanie Perotti, vice president of online services.
