Our ancestors might have walked with unicorns, according to a recent fossil find.
The “Siberian unicorn,” or Elasmotherium sibiricum, was not itself a new find. Though scientists previously thought the animal only walked the Earth as recently as 350,000 years ago.

The fossilized skull on which the new estimate is based was located in the Pavlodar Priirtysh region of Kazakhstan. The Mother Nature Network reports that researchers at the Tomsk State University in Siberia now suspect the unicorn survived for as up until at least 29,000 years ago.
