Awesome Art Picks: Emerald City Comic Con

During the weekend of April 9, Seattle held Emerald City Comic Con. This convention celebrates the world of comic books, the companies that publish the books, and the writers and artists that put everything together. We walked the floor and talked to a few artists selling prints and promoting their books. Check out these artists, their art, and what projects they have coming up.

Rod Reis

Artist Rod Reis recently finished up the series C.O.W.L. at Image Comics and coloring at DC Comics. He has another new series, Hadrian’s Wall coming soon to Image.

Corin Howell

Corin Howell just came off of Bat-Mite at DC Comics and is currently drawing the back-up story in BOOM! Studios book Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. On top of that, her new series, The Mighty Zodiac, just kicked off from Oni Press.

Jeff Balke

Jeff Balke is a longtime colorist in the world of comics who recently dived into the world of animation. Currently, he’s working on both cell and digital animation for Jeff Balke Studios.

Dave Crosland

Artist Dave Crosland did some work at Oni Press on Invader Zim, and now, he’s completed an autobiographical story called EGO Rehab, with some cool, highly stylized art.
