It seems like eventually, every area from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be recreated using Unreal Engine 4. Gerudo Valley is the latest such area, and it doesn’t disappoint in the slightest.
Using a rip from the 3DS version of Ocarina as a reference, modder CryZENx built the area from scratch in UE4. And it looks fantastic. There’s no two ways about it, it’s really quite gorgeous.
The locale is made that much more realistic by the addition of wind effects and heat distortion. The Gerudo Valley theme as rendered in Super Smash Bros. is an excellent choice to really set off this recreation. Keeping the classic Ocarina Link and Navi sound effects was also a good call.
