Suicide Squad Officially Rated PG-13

Suicide Squad will have a PG-13 rating when it’s released on August 5, the Motion Picture Association of America announced today.

The news isn’t exactly a surprise—in 2015, producer Charles Roven said Suicide Squad would be rated PG-13 to maintain consistency within the rest of the DC Extended Universe. It may be “right there on the edge of PG-13, but still PG-13,” Roven added.

As noted by Batman News, the MPAA’s Classification and Ratings Administration has given David Ayer’s anti-hero flick the rating for “sequences of violence and action throughout, disturbing behavior, and suggestive content and language.” Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice received a PG-13 rating too, though its home entertainment release includes an extended addition that has been given an R rating.
