EA is forming a new Worldwide Studios Division that will amalgamate its core studios.
In an update from EA’s Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson, it was revealed that EA Worldwide Studios will bring together its top creative talent from all its studios to work across its entire brand portfolio. Patrick Söderlund will head up the division which will integrate EA Mobile and Maxis, currently led by Samantha Ryan. Ryan will also take the reins at BioWare, “where her love for RPGs and experience with open-world adventure games is an outstanding fit to work with Aaryn Flynn and his great team”, writes Wilson.
EA’s Frostbite team will also experience a change, moving into its technology division led by Ken Moss. “Our drive to power everything we do at EA with world-class technology has never been stronger. Players expect innovative, stable and secure experiences, and the strong combination of our Frostbite engine and our digital platform will make this possible”.
