ABC has released a new trailer for D.C. drama Scandal‘s upcoming sixth season, which shows new scenes from the season and reveals that it will premiere on Thursday, January 19.
The promo promises that the season premiere will “live up to the hype” in the first 10 minutes, revealing the results of the election that Season 5 ended with. If you haven’t seen Scandal, it might be best to skip the video and the text below it, as it contains spoilers.
Season 6 seems poised to answer big questions like if Mellie or Francisco win the election. As usual, there’s likely to be more drama between Olivia and President Fitz. And we’re also wondering what’s inside the exploding cabin seen in this new trailer.
Scandal stars Kerry Washington as Pope, who runs an elite-level crisis management company in Washington, D.C. and is in a relationship with Fitz. Other stars include Bellamy Young, Darby Stanchfield, Scott Foley, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Jeff Perry, Bellamy Young, and Portia de Rossi.
Seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Netflix.
