Paramount’s Ghost in the Shell live-action adaptation will be scored by Clint Mansell, director Rupert Sanders told members of the press at a trailer launch event in Tokyo.
Mansell is most famous for scoring Black Swan, Moon and Requiem for a Dream. He also notably helped score Mass Effect 3 and Black Mirror’s breakout Season 3 episode “San Junipero.”
Sanders is currently editing the finished Ghost in the Shell film, and is developing the score with Mansell in tandem. He said, “We’re kind of dancing around a bit of ’80s synth and more sparse intricate sound design as much as instrumentation, and it’s an evolving work in progress. We haven’t scored the film yet.”
