Princess Leia shows up at the end of Star Wars: Rogue One, but, given the timeline, it had to be a younger version of actress Carrie Fisher. This was made possible through movie magic.
Norwegian actress Ingvild Deila played Leia in Rogue One, and some new images show what she looked like on the movie’s set with motion-capture dots sprinkled on her face. The team at acclaimed effects studio Industrial Light & Magic took it from there, creating a young Leia face on Deila’s body.

There are also some images of actor Guy Henry, who played Grand Moff Tarkin in Rogue One. The part was originally played by Peter Cushing, and was digitally recreated for Rogue One.
These images, found by GamesRadar, likely come from the bonus features on Rogue One‘s home video release. The movie debuted on digital storefronts on March 24, and comes to Blu-ray/DVD in April.

The next Star Wars movie is The Last Jedi, which comes to theaters in December. No trailers have been shown to the public yet, but one possible venue for the first one could be Star Wars Celebration next month.
