During the panel for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at Star Wars Celebration today, John Boyega discussed the evolution of Finn in the highly anticipated movie.
When last we saw Finn, he’d been badly injured by Kylo Ren, and Boyega said as the new movie begins, “It’s been painful. It’s been a process.” He said he felt, Finn definitely stood up for himself,” but the injury is something he had to deal with and “He’s in recovery, but he will be back in The Last Jedi.”
Oscar Isaac couldn’t make it to Celebration, but Boyega said that when it came to the popular friendship (and some fans wonder perhaps even more eventually?) between Finn and Poe, Boyega said there’d “absolutely” be more for them, proclaiming, “There’s my boy!” when a photo of Isaac as Poe was shown, and adding, “There’s always a new adventure for us to go on.”
