Jordan Peele, director of Get Out, will begin shooting his as-yet-unrevealed second film this year.
Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Peele said: “I am currently writing it, and I’ll direct for Universal this year. I’m just trying to entertain myself again.”
Peele has previously said that he has multiple ideas for “socially conscious” horror films, and it sounds as though his follow-up will be one of them, but won’t tackle the same issues:
“Playing around with the thriller, horror, action, fun, genre of intrigue is my favorite”, he explained. “That’s my sweet spot. So I think tonally it should resemble Get Out. That said, I want to make a completely different movie. I want to address something different than race in the next one.”
