Valve Removes School Shooting Game From Steam

Valve has removed the controversial school shooting game Active Shooter and its developer from the Steam marketplace.

The description of Active Shooter (now removed,) called it a “dynamic SWAT simulator in which dynamic roles are offered to players.” In the game, you could play as a shooter, a SWAT team member, or a civilian, and its trailer depicted a shooter massacring his way through school halls.

Understandably, Active Shooter attracted controversy on its forums, with one Steam user calling it a ‘step too far’ despite being a fan of ‘offensive humor’.

Today, Valve took down Active Shooter from Steam, as well as any game published by Revived Games and publisher Acid, but not for the reasons you might think.
