From indie games like Fear the Wolves and Rapture Rejects to blockbusters like Battlefield V and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, battle royale games were a big part of E3 2018. The man who popularized the genre noticed, and he’s all for it.
“We have our own internal roadmap. And of course there’s
going to be competitors,” PUBG Creative Director Brendan Greene told GameSpot when asked if the trend affected PUBG’s development. “This year is a battle royale of battle royales. Everyone has their own royale, which is great, I love seeing the genre grow. It’s going to be interesting to see if it’s going to develop as a full genre.”
