Halo 5 Is Really Coming To PC, New Listing Suggests

It looks like Halo 5: Guardians might be coming to PC. As spotted by Ars Technica, retail giant Amazon has updated the game’s box art to state that Halo 5 is an “Xbox One Console Exclusive,” whereas the previous box art contained a line that said “Xbox One Exclusive.”

Microsoft also used the wording “Xbox One Console Exclusive” to describe other Xbox One games that are also available on PC such as Quantum Break and Forza Horizon 3.

Microsoft did not respond to GameSpot’s request for comment about Halo 5 potentially coming to PC.

The 2007 Windows Vista port of Halo 2 was the last officially released Halo game at retail for PC. More recently, Microsoft released Halo 5’s excellent Forge tools for free on PC, complete with matchmaking support–but no campaign.

Back in April, Xbox boss Phil Spencer gave Halo fans hope for more releases on PC, though he stopped short of confirming anything. Halo: Infinite, which is essentially Halo 6, is coming to PC, but it may not support Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere service.

What we also know about Halo: Infinite is that all Xbox Game Pass subscribers will get that game, and all of Microsoft’s other first-party games, at no extra cost.
