Halloween: Jamie Lee Curtis Tells Us Which Records It’s Broken

Halloween has had one of the best openings for an October movie ever, but star Jamie Lee Curtis wants fans to look beyond its $77.5 million USD in opening weekend sales.

“OK. I’m going for one BOAST post,” Curtis recently tweeted, listing the new film’s accolades. “Biggest horror movie opening with a female lead. Biggest movie opening with a female lead over 55. Second biggest October movie opening ever. Biggest Halloween

opening ever.”

In the film, Curtis reprises her role of Laurie Strode from the 1978 original. Halloween smashed the franchise’s previous record holder, Rob Zombie’s 2007 remake of the ’78 original, which took in $26 million USD.
